I am a music freak when it comes to period-appropriateness, as I have said, but finding good recordings of early 1900s music was obviously rather difficult, so I had to settle for keeping most of this pre-1940. I went with song writing date with that, as opposed to recording date; if a song written in 1917 was recorded in the 1940s, obviously I jumped on it. I love 1910s/1920s songs, the lyrics are always so adorable and the melodies so sweet. I hope y'all enjoy them as much as I do!
